The Hidden War

July 29, 2011 by Peter Whalen

Bullets, Bombs, IEDS. For today’s armed forces, the risks are many. But for women who serve their country, some of the greatest dangers come from an enemy within: men. http://bit.ly/oDbndd

White House Suicide Policy Falls Short

July 21, 2011 by Peter Whalen

The fault that I found is that Obama’s decision limits the condolence letters to the families of those who commit suicide, only to those who take their own lives in a combat zone. And what it doesn’t recognize is the myriad of problems that these men and women are facing when they return home after multiple deployments in a relatively short period of time. Often PTSD develops after a delay. And so to kind of create this distinction of, OK, we’ll recognize it but only if it happens in Iraq or only if it happens in Afghanistan or another area that supports those combat missions, isn’t enough. http://n.pr/nWMvVy

Honor denied some families of fallen troops

June 28, 2011 by Peter Whalen

Support Our Troops shoud not come with qualifiers-This wouldn’t take an act of Congress – a simple Presidential directive as the Commander-In-Chief would change this with the stroke of a pen and give these families the recognition they deserve:http://bit.ly/luAoNY
